About RepoPlays
RepoPlays — start your own business. What's your play?
What it is.
You want a business that sells something people already pay for, without spending months building it first. That's what a play gives you. Each one takes a free open-source tool (software whose code is public and free to use) and shows you how to sell it as a service: who needs it, what to charge and where to find your first clients.
You skip the build. The software already exists, it's free, and people already use it. You set it up, keep it running and look after the customers who'd rather pay you than do it themselves.
Who it's for.
Freelancers
who want one offer they can sell again and again, instead of one-off gigs.
Solo operators
who want a service they can run on their own.
Agencies
that want something new to offer clients they already have.
Indie hackers
(people building small businesses on their own) who'd rather start selling now than spend months building.
If you can follow setup instructions and talk with a customer, you can run a play.
Not for you if you want passive income or a shortcut. Every play is real client work: you set things up, sell them and support the people who pay you.
Why it exists.
There are plenty of good open-source tools with real users and active communities. The product part is done.
What's missing is the business: who pays for it, how much, and how you reach them. That's where people get stuck. RepoPlays exists to get you past it, to a real offer in front of a business that needs it.

Go from idea to your first offer:
- Lead lists of businesses that fit the play.
- An outreach kit with a free sample, emails and follow-ups you send yourself.
- Pricing and the math, so you know what to charge and what's left after costs.
Example: charge $300 a month (an example price) to host and look after a tool for one client. Five clients would come to $1,500 a month before costs (estimate). That shows how the math works; it isn't a forecast. What you earn depends on your market, your pricing and your work.
Full Play
Skip the setup. You get the tool running under your own name, plus AI (artificial intelligence) helpers tuned to your play:
- A sales bot that answers inbound leads.
- An ops (operations) bot that keeps an eye on the service.
- A support bot that answers common customer questions.
Your domain, hosting and basic settings are handled, and your first outreach emails come drafted. A person checks the work and signs off before anything goes live, so your time goes into finding customers.
What's your play?
You don't need a brand-new idea, just a tool people already want and a plan to sell it. Find the play that fits how you like to work.
